ChoiceRoute helps people in England use their NHS Right to Choose for ADHD and autism assessments, with clear steps and ready-made letters.
Editorial policy
- Content is written in plain English from NHS England guidance, NICE guidelines and ICB publications. Important rules link to their source.
- Every rule is checked against NHS England guidance or ICB publications, and each page shows when it was last reviewed.
- We correct mistakes quickly. If you spot one, tell us.
Independence and funding
- ChoiceRoute is not part of the NHS.
- No provider pays to be listed, ranked or mentioned.
- The site is funded by the optional Complete Referral Pack. The free tools will stay free.
Updates
- October 2026: Clarified when being on a local waiting list affects Right to Choose. Separated GP refusal advice by reason. Rebuilt the provider list from NHS Black Country ICB's published list. Added a delete-my-data button and terms of sale.
- October 2026: Site launched with area guides for Birmingham and Solihull, London, Leicester, Bristol and Hampshire.
What we don't do
We don't diagnose, give individual medical advice or make referrals. Your GP decides whether a referral is clinically appropriate.
